This is a repost of a problem that is listed in the
WysiwygPluginProblemReports topc. The problem still exists in my 0.16 installation.
In regards to the question of why it shouldn't do this - some plugins use the "Email" variable on the users homepage, using
WysiwygPlugin changes the value of the variable to a text string which is no longer their email address.
Is there a way I can turn this off in my current installation ?
Original posting:
E-Mail addresses shouldn't be replaced with explicit mailto: links:
- * E-mail
z@aNOSPAM.b.c about Win32 API from .Net
+ * E-mail
z@aNOSPAM.b.c about Win32 API from .Net

Response
Why not? It far more explicit and intention-revealing. --

IMHO:
* users expect that e-mail addresses are auto-linked
* overly complex edit screen (the explicit link without any additional meaning for it) scares off casual contributers (KISS)
* changing an e-mail address suddenly requires changing it in two places

Could someone confirm that this works on their 0.16 install, and share the list of installed plugins? Thanks.
