The select="2" parameter in the VarJQTABPANE variable allows one to select a specific tab within a tab pane. For example, select="2" selects the second tab pane.

This feature is actually already implemented but not documented.

Test case that pre-selects the second tab, and the third sub-tab within the second tab; the fourth tab loads the TimBernersLee topic content asynchronously on first click:
