When WYSIWYG editing is the default, there is no scriptable (URL) way to get to Raw Edit mode (at least, not according to the documentation in TWiki/TWikiScripts.

Doc bug: The nowysiwyg parameter is not documented

Code feature: It would also help for edit to support raw=on. Given that "WYSIWYG" is now "edit", and the former edit is called "Raw edit" people can be expected to think more in terms of "raw on" than "wysiwyg off".

i am reluctant to add yet another on/off switch for wysiwyg we already have 3

  • nowysiwyg in url
  • NOWYSIWYG pref setting (tinymcedisable deprecated)
  • EDITMETHOD pref setting

long term it would be better to deprecate all but the editmethod option and support that as both pref setting and url param (IRC)
