With some heuristics it should be possible to provide a reasonable
default value for
$TWiki::cfg{SaveEnvPath}
at least for the
"positive" cases (Linux). Having yet another parameter which needs to
be configured to get rid of the warning is just annoying, especially
in cases where
$ENV{PATH}
has already been secured by a decent web
server configuration.
In any case the current value of
$ENV{PATH}
should be reported in
the section for
$TWiki::cfg{SaveEnvPath}
, but I have no idea whether
the current doc-generating mechanism would allow that. And there
should be a checkbox "keep server setting". But that's not even
"Low", that's "Enhancement"

This pretty old problem apparently has been fixed in the meantime: One
can keep the server's setting by just providing an empty path, and
configure
provides sufficient help for the relevant platforms how to set the variable individually if desired. Instead of looking for the corresponding bugs item I'll just flag this one as "no action required".
