In NatEditContrib the VERBATIM feature puts a text with verbatim before and /verbatim after on the same line.

This is a multiline feature so it is misleading. Instead it should do the same as it does for left, center and right justify and put the verbatim tags on their own lines

-- TWiki:Main/KennethLavrsen - 27 Apr 2007

If possible preserving leading whitespace, so that verbatim works as well in bullets.

-- TWiki:Main.PeterThoeny - 27 Apr 2007

Will make it behave like left, center and right divs

-- TWiki:Main.MichaelDaum - 27 Apr 2007

See related Item3974. There is a sematic difference between monospaced text embedded in a flow of text, and

  used for
  source code

So, I think we should treat verbatim text as multiline (even though it works embedded as well (since TWiki 4.0))
