Does this site look broken?. Use the LitterTray web for test cases.

Trying to click on the calendar image with either ActionTracker or EditTable simply closes the view but leaves the lock in place and doesn't display the calendar.

What versions are you using? In Dakar (TWiki 4.0.1) I found that the EditTablePlugin works fine with its calendar - both are shipped with the distribution. For ActionTrackerPlugin you need the plugin from TWiki:Plugins.TWiki plus a fix which is available from SVN - just replace one file: http://svn.twiki.org:8181/svn/twiki/branches/DEVELOP/twikiplugins/ActionTrackerPlugin/lib/TWiki/Plugins/ActionTrackerPlugin.pm

Thanks for bringing this up - so far I hadn't noticed that my ActionTracker calendars were broken. I must admit that I'm a bit at a loss about the recommended procedure for upgrading to Dakar as far as optional plugins are concerned....

Hmmm - The EditTablePlugin uses the JSCalendarContrib, same as the action tracker.

I just tried the action tracker plugin in a stock 4.1.1 installation, and it works perfectly.

You don't say anything about your environment. What browser? Any error messages in error_log? Any JavaScript errors? What do you mean "closes the view"? Does the browser die? Are you using a separate window for action tracker edits?

It depends on the version of the action tracker, which is not part of stock 4.0.1.

The version in the .tgz from TWiki:Plugins.TWiki, dated December 2005, contains the following lines in ActionTrackerPlugin.pm:

    } elsif( $TWiki::Contrib::JSCalendarContrib::VERSION < 0.961 ) {
            'JSCalendarContrib >=0.961 required, '.
              $TWiki::Contrib::JSCalendarContrib::VERSION.' found');

These lines cause an error with the non-numeric $VERSION of the calendar contrib as shipped with 4.0.1., as seen from the warning file. They have been removed in SVN. warn200602.txt has many lines like:

| 15 Feb 2006 - 13:11 | (TWiki::Plugins::ActionTrackerPlugin) JSCalendarContrib >=0.961 required, $Rev: 8035 $ found
The symptoms are in my case (Firefox): The window closes, but the lock hangs - which is apparent if I try to edit again. If I am looking at the source of the edit window, I see that the reference including the calendar's .js files is missing. If I click on a calendar, I get a redirect back to the action page (I don't open a new window when editing actions). This may be browse dependent - it boils down to calling a javascript function which isn't defined:
<input type="image" name="calendar" src="/twiki/pub/TWiki/JSCalendarContrib/img.gif" align="MIDDLE" alt="Calendar" onclick="return showCalendar('date_due','%e %B %Y')" />

I have not checked the action tracker from TWiki:Plugins.ActionTrackerPlugin so far because I seem to recall to have read that it wouldn't work with Dakar at all.

I was having a hard time editing the information because I was trying text edit and wasn't getting any edit window.

I was having the same behavior as stated above. "The symptoms are in my case (Firefox): The window closes, but the lock hangs - which is apparent if I try to edit again." (however other browsers were also seeing the trouble). I had gotten an error that addHEAD() did not exist. When I said 'the window closed' I simply meant the 'edit' version closed and went back to 'view' mode but the lock remained.

I installed new copies of JSCalendarContrib, EditTablePlugin, and ActionTrackerPlugin from TWiki:Plugins.TWiki. Everything is working as expected now.

I was using the latest 4.0.1 release downloaded and installed Feb. 4, 2006.

Thanks for the advice and information.
