This is a requirement for Dakar because links need to point to the right place.

Affected are Item1468 and other ones.

I can't remember the bug item, but you asked me a while ago to put them in Codev (and I objected mildly because i thought the searches would be very slow - remember?). I still don;t think Codev is the best place for them, nor is TWiki (because it is specific to the twiki.org installation. I'd rather see a "Documentation" web that can hold documentation that is:

  1. applicable to all releases (or at least written so it's clear what releases it applies to)
  2. editable by the community
  3. specifically hard-facts documentation and not speculative *discussion
  4. Kept small, so it can be searched really fast
Isn't this rather like your old idea of a "Knowledge base"?

Process described in TWiki:Codev.WhereToPutOfficialDocsMissingInDistro.
