What is the twiki/bin/logos and its files used for? Can it be removed? If not, it should be moved to the proper place, e.g. below twiki/pub.

Not that I have any oppinion on this. I am just curious. Item1332 has nothing to do with location of logos. Can you put the right reference so we can understand the reason?

I was under the impression that these logos were just for the use of configure - which we want to have branded before TWiki is sufficiently configured have a clue about where the pub files have been hidden

That's exactly right. It can't be moved, because when configure is run it doesn't know where pub is. It can't be removed because configure uses it.
