I agree.

Just recently, I moved a topic back out of the trash into its original web (Main/Test) and the "put back" set the parent topic to Main/Test.WebHome. This isn't particularly serious, just odd.

However, I have also had parent topics updated to point back to the originating web when moving or copying a topic to a new web.

It should be a "simple matter of software" to special-case the parent meta data field to be ignored when adding web qualifiers to topic names on a move or copy operation.
