Detail

When you paste some formatted text from MS Word it totally destroys the topic in some cases.

See this topic

http://merlin.lavrsen.dk/twiki/bin/view/Myweb/TocTest?rev=2

And then after having played a little with TMCE adding some bullets and a small table I had the same topic with the new bullets and the table.

Then I created a garbage doc in word.

I wrote two lines of random keyboard banging text.

First line I bolded and made with a larger font.

Second line I left like default.

Then I pasted this into the TMCE near the top of the doc. And the result

The whole thing became total garbage.

The table and bullets became toast.

And the text below that was OK suddenly had a lot of

FYI I just tried Open Office and it worked like a dream.

I now paste in two lines of text from MS Word

Something in word in boldAnd something in word plain

and below same thing from Wordpad.

Something in bold

And something normal

And when I save it now I expect the MS Word text to be garbage and the Wordpad to end up on one line with html tags for bold instead of TML.

View raw to see the garbage. And the Wordpad turned out not too bad. It was two lines.

But when you then edit again, it is all a bug mess and impossible to edit.

And the editing made all bold. It looked OK first time I saved. Then I added text below in Edit mode (not comment plugin) and it is all toast.

This last note is added with comment plugin

Notice how also the form below and left bar gets screwed up.

I enabled the "Word paste" plugin in TinyMCE by default. Please try again when you get a chance. I don't have a copy of word, so it's tough to test frown And note that you can fiddle with the parameters to TinyMCE to improve the paste; modify the TINYMCEPLUGIN_INIT variable. Moxie doc is at http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Plugins/paste

As log as the paste problem with pop up is open there is no point trying this as the fix for the other will affect this. So I will try later

As of SVN 14685 the copy paste from MS Word is not toasting a topic as badly as it did here.

So I am closing this. If it turns bad again then we have now noted that SVN 14685 was pretty OK
