Installing
ActionTrackerPlugin using
configure
install currently fails with:
Error: Failed to move file 'lib/TWiki/Plugins/ActionTrackerPlugin/' to /home/httpd/twiki/lib/TWiki/Plugins/ActionTrackerPlugin: Is a directory
Software error:
Installation terminated at /home/httpd/twiki/lib/TWiki/Configure/UIs/EXTEND.pm line 149.
(This means that the lib subdirectory contents for the plugin is not copied - another plugin with the same problem is AutoNavigationPlugin. AutoNavigationPlugin doesn't come with an installer to help fix it up).
Trying a manual install after this is somewhat peculiar as well:
Running
perl ActionTrackerPlugin_installer.pl
manually afterwards, has this output:
Downloaded archive from http://twiki.org/p/pub/Plugins to ./ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz
Could not create filehandle for './ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz': No such file or directory! at ActionTrackerPlugin_installer.pl line 673
No data could be read from file at ActionTrackerPlugin_installer.pl line 673
Could not open tar file ./ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz
Failed to unpack archive ./ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz
Archive unpacked
The
tgz
is actually downloaded OK?
Next roundtrip gives this:
..
/home/httpd/twiki/ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz exists on this machine; would you like me to use it?
It was created on Fri Apr 13 23:26:21 2007.
If not, I will try to download a new one.
Use existing /home/httpd/twiki/ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz? [y/n] y
Got a local archive from /home/httpd/twiki/ActionTrackerPlugin.tgz
ActionTrackerPlugin_installer
..
which of course is much better.

Another curiousity some plugins have on dependencies:
$ perl BlogAddOn_installer
### BlogAddOn Installer ###
This installer must be run from the root directory of your TWiki
installation.
* The script will not do anything without asking you for
confirmation first (unless you used -a).
* You can abort the script at any point and re-run it later
* If you answer 'no' to any questions you can always re-run
the script again later
##########################################################
Checking dependency on TWiki::Plugins::CommentPlugin....
*** BlogAddOn depends on perl package TWiki::Plugins::CommentPlugin >=12063
which is described as "Required"
But when I tried to find it I got this error:
11359 is currently installed:
Would you like me to try to download and install the latest version of CommentPlugin from twiki.org? [y/n]
Apparently correct reportings of current versions are seen as an error.

From
Item3748 it appears that having
/tmp
and
../twiki
on different filesystems might be a factor in triggering these errors? (They are in separate filesystems in the above).

yes indeed; I think this is a duplicate of
Item3748, and explains how that problem manifests itself. Thanks. Setting no-action (tracked elsewhere)
